Fishing is one of the local industries, and there are great catches to be had with flathead, bream, and blackfish in the river. There are some great places to fish from shore, or you can hire a tinnie. Check with reception for further details.
The Greenwell Point Hotel is approximately a 500 metre walk from the motel. They have a small bottle shop and a bistro, including a pizza oven. Bistro open 6 days (closed Tuesday)

If you need to cool off, there are a couple of places over the road in the River. Alternatively, there are surf beaches at Culburra and Callala (both about 10 minutes drive).
Halfway between Nowra and Kangaroo Valley is a fantastic lookout, with great views from Coolangatta Mountain to past Jervis Bay. Enjoy morning tea or lunch at The Lookout cafe while taking in the views.
How to get thereThe Shoalhaven is a great area for birds, and watchers, with two areas close to the motel. Comerong Island is across the Crookhaven River from the motel, and accessible by vehicular ferry, and Lake Wollumboola is a 15min drive.
